AMHERST, N.Y. – National wound care expert Dr. Michael Brogan, Daemen College vice president for academic affairs and dean of the college, was a featured presenter at the ninth annual Vascular-Interventional Associates (VIA) Symposium held this month in Buffalo.
AMHERST, N.Y. – Safeguarding the Great Lakes from the dangers of microbeads, which were recently banned in products sold in Erie County, and other efforts to protect water quality in the Buffalo Niagara region will be explored at the 11th annual Western New York Environmental Summit that will take place Sept. 26 at Daemen College.
AMHERST, N.Y. – The nonprofit organization’s role in economic development and community building will be discussed by Rahwa Ghirmatzion, director of programs at People United for Sustainable Housing (PUSH Buffalo), at the opening event in the 2015-16 Daemen College Nancy Haberman Gacioch Entrepreneurship Lecture Series.

4:30 PM to 6:30 PM - Schenck Hall - Room 107: With severe weather events becoming more frequent and more extreme, it is more important than ever that New Yorkers are prepared for disasters. The NY Citizen Preparedness Training Program teaches residents to have the tools and resources to prepare for any type of disaster, respond accordingly and recover as quickly as possible to normal conditions. This training course will provide an introduction to responding to a natural or manmade disaster. Participants will be advised on how to properly prepare for any disaster, including developing a family emergency plan and stocking up on emergency supplies. Each family that attends will receive one preparedness kit.
